April 2024

Earth Day

Our booth promoted upcycling and resourcefulness through a “Junkyard Booth,” inspired by grassroots organizations from the 1970s, where people can use common household trash provided to create art or usable items. The 1970s were also the time when Earth Day became a widely-recognized holiday. Influenced by the innovation and environmentalism of the period from which Earth Day was born, our club offered opportunities for creative expression in the booth such as T-shirt teddy bears, cardboard/milk carton book binding, tea bag lanterns, and many more. Overall, our aim was to spread creativity and climate awareness for people of all ages through hands-on activities.

Cupertino Night Market

The Cupertino Night Market was the very first event of Tino Eco. Officers and members volunteered for 7 long hours from 3 pm to 10 pm spreading word about ClimateScience, engaged children in a spin the wheel fundraiser, and set up an art activity on the environment. Tino Eco successfully fundraised $127.50.
